Equine 74® Gastric

120 days supply (6 kg)

€223,11

Equine 74® Gastric is a complementary feedstuff for all horses & ponies to maintain the stomach's wellbeing & acid balance.

Equine 74® Gastric does not contain any ingredient known to contravene the Jockey Club, FEI or BSJA rules.

Equine 74® Gastric is a natural acid buffer that absorbs excess stomach acid rather than blocking it. It has a unique sponge-like structure and is derived from calcified red algae, which contain 74 different minerals, including large amounts of calcium and magnesium that are highly bioavailable to horses. By absorbing excess acid, Equine 74® Gastric helps maintain a constant pH level in the horse's stomach, thereby also supporting the intestinal flora.

The supply number is based on an average use of 2 x 25 g per day.

Our 30-day money-back guarantee only applies to the 40 days supply of Equine 74® Gastric pellets or powder!

Feeding recommendation
  • Horses and Ponies ≤ 300 kg = 25 - 30 g / day
  • Horses and Ponies ≤ 600 kg = 50 - 60 g / day
  • Horses and Ponies > 600 kg = 60 - 100 g / day

We recommend to feed Equine 74 Gastric twice a day, each time half the recommended daily amount. If this is not possible, feed once daily.

Depending on the horse and preference, Equine 74® Gastric can be fed straight from your hand or added to the horse’s normal feed.
Both the powder and the pellets can be mixed with moist feed such as mash or “Schlonzi” with no lost benefits. When adding powder, the feed should be fed within 10-15 minutes due to the yeast added here.

Can I give Equine 74® Gastric to my horse on a long term basis?

Equine 74 is safe to give your horse on a long term basis. It was developed specifically to help high performance horses handle the stresses of regular training, travel, and showing. Many of our customers have been using Equine 74 as an everyday supplement for years.

Can I give Equine 74® Gastric as a cure?

Equine 74 is not a cure for gastric ulcers in horses. We suggest consulting your veterinarian if you suspect ulcers in your horse.

Can I use Equine 74® Gastric during a show? Is it doping free?

Yes, Equine 74 Gastric is free of any banned substances prohibited during recognized shows (FEI).

Equine 74® Gastric vs. Omeprazole

When should I use Omeprazole instead of Equine 74 Gastric?

If you suspect your horse has ulcers, call your veterinarian. They will be able to properly diagnose the problem and determine if your horse requires treatment with a prescription medication such as Omeprazole. Equine 74 Gastric IS NOT a treatment for ulcers. Once your horse has been successfully treated for ulcers, use the Equine 74 Gastric supplement to help maintain healthy acid levels in your horse’s stomach.

What is the difference between Equine 74 Gastric and Omeprazole?

Omeprazole inhibits the proton pump that produces stomach acid. Equine 74 neutralizes stomach acid, acting as a natural buffer. Instead of halting the production of stomach acid, Equine 74 buffers the excess acid caused by stress related lifestyle factors many horses face - making it an excellent way to maintain healthy gastric acid levels.

Can I use Equine 74 Gastric and Omeprazole safely together?

Yes. If your horse is recovering from ulcers, we recommend starting Equine 74 during the last 1 to 2 weeks of treatment with Omeprazole. Continue using Equine 74 Gastric on a daily base for 6 weeks to 4 months. Or continue using Equine 74 as a longer term solution for maintaining healthy acid levels in the stomach.
